Feast day of Photios, Patriarch of Constantinople

The Church today venerates the memory of Photios, Patriarch of Constantinople, one of the most prolific theologians of the Mother Church.
On the occasion, a Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Holy Monastery of the Bodiless Powers, also known as the Petraki Monastery, in central Athens, officiated by the Bishop of Oreon, His Grace Filotheos, the First Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece.

Snowfall in the greater Athens area overnight led to the cancellation of same-day commemorative events and Church services at the Church of Greece’s Inter-Orthodox Centre, which is located at the Holy Monastery of Penteli, beneath Mt. Penteli, which overlooks the Greek capital from the north.
