Feast day of St. Savvas the Sanctified celebrated at Jerusalem Patriarchate, based on Julian calendar

The feast day of St. Savvas the Sanctified was celebrated on Sunday at the dedicated Holy Monastery, as based on the Julian calendar.
The Holy Monastery was founded by St. Savvas on the right bank of the Brook of the Cedars, which descends towards the direction of the Dead Sea.

On the occasion of the feast day, Jerusalem Patriarchate commemorated the arrival of St. Savvas from Cappadocia to the Holy Land, in the year 456, at the age of 18.

The Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Theophilos III, officiated at the services, who were co-officiated by several Metropolitans, Archimandrites and clerics of the venerable Patriarchate.

The services were attended by numerous faithful, diplomats and local office-holders.
