Feast of the Annunciation of All-Holy Theotokos celebrated at Jerusalem Patriarchate – based on Julian calendar
The Annunciation of the All-Holy Theotokos, the Virgin Mary, based on the Julian calendar, was celebrated on Wednesday by the Patriarchate of Jerusalem in the Nazareth, at the holy shrine in the town.
The Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Most Godly Beatitude Theophilos III, officiated, with co-celebrants being Metropolitan Kyriakos of Nazareth and several other hierarchs and Elders of the Jerusalem Patriarchate. The Consul General of Greece in the Holy City, Evangelos Vlioras, was also present.
The Feast of the Annunciation was also celebrated, based on the Julian calendar, by the Moscow Patriarchate, with the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill, accompanied by young children, releasing several white doves into the sky.
Earlier, a celebratory Divine Liturgy was held at the Cathedral of the Savior in Moscow, where a special prayer uttered for deliverance from the Covid-19 pandemic.
His Holiness referred to the sacrifices and heroism of the physicians and nursing staff in the face of the pandemic.
