Feature on historic convent of Malevi

A feature is posted today on the webpages of the Orthodoxia News Agency on the historic Dormition of the Virgin Monastery in the Peloponnese, known as the Malevi Convent.

The complex was built on Mt. Parnonas on the site of an 8th century AD monastery, and features six chapels, modern accommodations and auxiliary buildings.

It is located some five kilometers from the village of Aghios Petros, and is one of the most significant monasteries in Arcadia prefecture, at a altitude of 1,100 meters.

A miraculous icon of the Virgin is found at the monastery, one of 70 crafted by the Luke the Evangelist.
