Final studies approved for infrastructure improvements on Mt. Athos

Two decisions towards implementing significant infrastructure projects on the semi-autonomous monastic community of Mount Athos, in northern Greece, were taken today by board members of the Center for Preservation of Athonite Heritage, which is chaired by Greek Deputy Interior Minister Stavros Kalafatis.

The first project deals with the approval of an environmental impact study for sea port infrastructure at the Holy Monastery of Iviron, while a second decision deals with the specifications for final studies regarding state-of-the-art waste treatment facilities on the peninsula.
