A now annual Great Synodal Vesper was celebrated at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Corinth on Tuesday, the eve of today’s feast day of Peter and Paul, the Holy Apostles.
The Metropolitan Cathedral is dedicated to the Apostle Paul, who is the patron saint of Corinth.

The Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, was represented by the Metropolitan of Kassandrias, His Eminence Nikodimos, given that the former is recovering from a minor illness.

During the service, the Metropolitan of Argolida, His Eminence Nektarios, delivered a sermon on the life, works and martyrdom of the Apostle Paul.

The resident Metropolitan, His Eminence Dionysios, welcomed member-hierarchs of the Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece in front of the Metropolitan Cathedral, along with other hierarchs and arch-priests that travelled from around Greece to honor the memory of the Apostle Paul.

A litany of the holy Icons of the Apostle Paul and the Icon of the Panaghia Paramythias followed through the streets of the southern Greece city, accompanied by numerous faithful.

In a related development, a con-celebratory Archieratical Vespers was officiated on Tuesday by the Metropolitan of Nazareth, His Eminence Kyriakos, at the celebrating Cathedral in the northern Greece city of Veria.
The Archbishop of Crete, His Eminence Evgenios, and visiting hierarchs of the Patriarchates of Alexandria, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia and the Archdiocese of Cyprus co-officiated.
