Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Australia Stylianos passes away

The Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Australia and primate of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, His Eminence Stylianos, passed away on Monday, March 25, on the Feast Day of the Annunciation and Greek Independence Day.

The long-time and beloved Archbishop of the Greek Church in Australia had been ill over the past few months, before passing away at the age of 83.

Stylianos was born Stylianos Harkianakis in Rethymno, Crete on Dec. 29 1935. He studied theology at the seminary of Halki.
