Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia – Announcement for the Feast Day of the Dormition of the Theotokos
All the faithful of all Parishes and the Holy Monastery of St John of the Mountain are invited to attend the Hierarchical Vesper Service at the Church of Evangelismos for the Feast of the Most Holy Lady Theotokos presided by His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyaneon on Friday the 14th of August.
All clergy will be present and the service will be commencing at 6.00 pm. At the conclusion of the Vesper Service the Lamentations (Εγκώμια)
dedicated to the Holy Theotokos will be recited in front of the decorated Epitaphios of the Virgin Mary.
On the actual day of the Feast, Saturday the 15th of August, His Grace will be officiating at the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the Church of Evangelismos
commencing at 7.30 am.
A light lunch will be served to all in attendance in the Church grounds.
Please note that all churches (except the monastery) will be conducting the Divine Liturgy on Saturday the 15th of August.
