Greek Revolution standard conveyed to historic Monastery of Dovra
The historic standard of the Greek Revolution, which is reverently preserved at the Monastery of Aghia Lavra in the northwest Peloponnese, was joyously welcomed this week at the similarly historic Monastery of Dovra, near the northern city of Veria.
Fore-feast services began on the Thursday of Bright Week for today’s feast day of the Theotokos of the Life-giving Spring, as well as the bicentennial of the notable battle of Dovra.
The historic standard was conveyed by the Elder Archimandrite Eusevios, the Abbot of Aghia Lavra.
