His Beatitude Visits Historic Churches and Educational Landmarks in Alexandria
ALEXANDRIA- His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa continues to guide the ancient Patriarchate of Saint Mark into a new era of spiritual, cultural, and missionary renewal.
In recent days, the Patriarch personally visited and inspected several landmark projects of the Patriarchate in Egypt, reaffirming his deep commitment to the enduring presence and mission of the Church of Alexandria.
Among the most significant visits was the New Administrative Capital of Egypt, where His Beatitude reviewed the progress of the new Patriarchal Centre — the “Centre of Friendship Among Nations” — together with the Church of Saint John the Merciful. Deeply moved by the progress, the Patriarch emphasised that the Church of Alexandria is establishing a new spiritual and administrative presence in the heart of modern Egypt.
His Beatitude also visited the historic Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos in Alexandria, where major restoration works are underway with great care and respect for the sacred and historic character of the church.
Another historic moment was the official blessing and handover of the renowned Averoff Girls’ School building to the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa. The Patriarch described the historic complex as a future Centre of Education, Culture, and Spiritual Presence, preserving the rich legacy of Hellenism and Orthodoxy in Egypt.
These projects stand as a powerful testimony to the living mission of the Patriarchate of Alexandria a Church deeply rooted in history, yet moving forward with vision, faith, and hope for the future of Orthodoxy in Africa and beyond.
