His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros Welcomes Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis (Yiannis) Loverdos to Archdiocese
His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America welcomed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis (Yiannis) Loverdos at the headquarters of the Greek Orthodox Archdioceses in New York. Accompanying the Deputy Minister was the Consul General of Greece in New York, Ms. Iphigenia Kanara.
Archbishop Elpidophoros congratulated the Deputy Minister on his recent appointment and presented him with an icon depicting Jesus Christ as the True Vine, which His Eminence described as “a symbol of unity for our Church.”
“Thank you very much,” Deputy Minister Loverdos replied. “I also desire this unity—the unity of Hellenism. Bridges to unite Greeks everywhere.”
