His Grace Bishop Silvester Kisitu appointed Bishop of the new Diocese of Jinja and Eastern Uganda
History has been made today during the final day of the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Alexandria chaired by His Beatitude Theodoros II, a new Diocese of Jinja and Eastern has been established and His Grace Bishop Silvester appointed the Spiritual leader.
Bishop Silvester was elected and concentered Bishop in 2018 during the Holy Synod and appointed spiritual leader of the then newly established Holy Diocese of Gulu and Eastern Uganda. During the tenure of his reign, he always advocated for self-dependence and reliance of the North and Eastern region respectively, so as to attain balanced growth and development in all aspects of life maintaining spiritual growth as the epitome. All were based on the improbable geographical divide between the two regions.
Upon his appointment, this makes Bishop Silvester the first Spiritual leader of the Diocese of Jinja and Eastern Uganda with the sea in the new city of Jinja.
We wish His Grace blessings of our Savior ahead of his service in the new Diocese of Jinja.
