History professor Kitroeff to Orthodoxia news agency on inseparable bonds linking ethnic Greek community in Egypt, Greek diaspora in US with Orthodox Church
Haverford College professor emeritus Alexander Kitroeff spoke to the Orthodoxia news agency this week on the inseparable bonds linking the ethnic Greek community in Egypt and the Greek diaspora in the United States with the Orthodox Church.
Kitroeff, a noted historian specializing in modern Greek history, has ancestral ties to Alexandria.
Among others, he referred to the decisive role played by the Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa in preserving an ethnic Greek identity in the Land of the Nile, as well as the two pylons that characterize modern Hellenism, namely, the Orthodox faith and the Greek language.
