The Holy Icon Axion Esti was venerated in centuries-old Mount Athos tradition this week at the semi-autonomous monastic community’s capital, Karyes, with the Metropolitan of Sisanion and Siatista, His Eminence Athanasios officiated at a Divine Liturgy, and co-officiated by several Mount Athos Elders.
