Holy Synod of Church of Greece to consider coronavirus precautions ahead of cathedrals’ reopening
Another session of the permanent Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece is scheduled for Tuesday, ahead of Sunday’s opening of places of worship around the country for the holding of services and the Divine Liturgy, in the presence of worshipers.

The Church of Greece is expected to table several of its own proposals to public health authorities regarding implementation of guidelines and precautions to avoid exposure to the Covid-19 virus, such as social distancing, possibly the wearing face and hand protection as well as ventilating and keeping the interiors of cathedrals disinfected.

The Holy Synod’s administrative services, along with those of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens and other Metropolises around Greece opened to the public on Monday.
