Initiative to establish a joint platform to study, track situation of Christians in the Middle East

The general secretary of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy, New Democracy party deputy Maximos Harakopoulos, this week detailed the group’s goals for 2021, in an interview with the Orthodoxia news agency.
Harakopoulos also cited the drafting of a MoC with the University of Athens to establish a joint platform to study the situation of Christians in the Middle East, along with the steps taken to overturn the reconversion of the Hagia Sophia into a mosque – a shocking decision taken by the Erdogan regime in Turkey last July.
