Invitation to the President of the Hellenic Republic for the 160th Anniversary of the Arkadi Self-Sacrifice
On Thursday morning, 29 January, His Eminence Metropolitan Prodromos of Rethymno and Avlopotamos; Ms Mary Lioni, Deputy Regional Governor of the Regional Unit of Rethymno; Mr Georgios Marinakis, Mayor of Rethymno; and Archimandrite Theologos Papalevyzakis, Abbot’s Councillor of the Holy Patriarchal and Stavropegic Monastery of Arkadi, visited the Presidential Palace, where they were received by the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr Konstantinos Tassoulas, to whom they presented an official invitation to participate in the events marking the 160th Anniversary of the Arkadi Self-Sacrifice.
The President of the Hellenic Republic accepted the invitation and stated that he would gladly attend this great anniversary for Rethymno and Crete.
A constructive discussion on various matters also took place with the President.
