Litany on feast day of Demetrius the Great Martyr in Vyronas district of Athens

The Church of Greece’s Metropolitan of Kesariani, Vyronas and Immitos, His Eminence Daniel, on Tuesday afternoon officiated at the Great Vesper at the celebrating St. Demetrius cathedral in the east Athens district of Vyronas, the same church where a Holy Icon of the Panaghia Parigoritria, or Virgin Mary of Consolation, has for the past year miraculously begun streaming tears.
A Litany of the Holy Icon followed in the streets around the cathedral, which were lined with worshippers from the parish and from the greater Athens area.

In the north of the country, several pupils’ parades on the occasion of Thursday’s national holiday, have been cancelled, due to the high concentration of Covid-19 infections in several prefectures.
