A Divine Liturgy and a memorial service for the victims of a WWII-massacre in the northern city of Drama was held on Wednesday in the city’s St. Nicholas cathedral, with the Metropolitan of Drama, His Eminence Pavlos, officiating.

A laying of wreaths ceremony was then held at a memorial for those slain by Bulgarian occupation units on Sept. 29, 1941, more than four months after Axis forces invaded Greece, who fought on the side of the Allies in the Second World War.
