Yesterday, OrthoChristian reported that Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro’s health has been steadily improving since he tested positive for the coronavirus on October 6.

Now, the Metropolis of Montenegro of the Serbian Orthodox Church reports that His Eminence, 82, now tests negative for the virus.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Irineos of Crete, 87, who suffered acute respiratory failure on September 27, continues to steadily recover.

In addition to testing negative for the coronavirus, the Clinical Center of Montenegro also reported yesterday that an ultrasound of Met. Amfilohije’s heart showed no damage to his heart muscle, reports the Metropolis of Montenegro.

His other vital parameters remain stable and his pneumonia is steadily subsiding.

As for Abp. Irineos, the Archdiocese of Crete reported on Monday that his health is constantly improving with the help of physiotherapy at the University General Hospital of Heraklion.

His Eminence was admitted to the hospital ICU after experiencing difficulty breathing, and on October 6, he was released into the general hospital population after a week of intubation.

The Archdiocese notes the love of the flock for their shepherd and asks for understanding, as it is not permitted to visit the Archbishop at this time. It also asks the clergy, monastics, and faithful of Crete to continue to pray for his full recovery.
