Metropolitan of Didimotycho, Orestiada and Soufli tours border posts in NE Greece

The Metropolitan of Didimotycho, Orestiada and Soufli, His Eminence Damaskinos, this week visited the police headquarters in the northeast Greek border city of Orestiada, along with several border observation posts in the region.
Orestiada lies just west of the land border with Turkey in the northeast Thrace province.

His Eminence blessed a New Year’s cake, called Vassilopita in Greek, while at the police headquarters, and subsequently visited the guard-posts, speaking with servicemen and offering spiritual support and encouragement.
