Metropolitan of Kazan & Tatarstan Theofan reposes in the Lord

The Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan, Theofan, reposed in the Lord on Friday at the age 73, following COVID-19-related complications.
According to Russian media, the Metropolitan was born in May 1947 to a working-class family in the Kursk region, and after completing his obligatory military service he found refuge in the Church and remained there until the end of his days.
Theofan held various positions in the Russian Church both in vast country and abroad.
