Metropolitan of Kythira Seraphim fully acquitted over charge related to pandemic lockdown

The Metropolitan of Kythira, His Eminence Seraphim, on Tuesday was acquitted of all charges related to an alleged violation of an emergency public health law in force at the time to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
His Eminence was acquitted by a three-justice misdemeanor court in the port city of Piraeus.

The resident Metropolitan of Piraeus, His Eminence Seraphim, served as a defense witness, in a trial which lasted no more than 15 minutes. The acquittal followed a similar recommendation by the bench prosecutor, with the senior presiding judge addressing the Metropolitan of Kythira as a His Most Distinguished Eminence”.
