Moscow Patriarchate’s Metropolitan of Volokolamsk received by Primates of Orthodox Churches of Poland, Czech Lands and Slovakia
The Archbishop of Warsaw and Metropolitan of All Poland, His Beatitude Sawa, over the weekend received the Moscow Patriarchate’s Metropolitan of Volokolamsk, His Eminence Hilarion, who arrived in the Polish capital under the blessing of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill.
Relations between the world’s Orthodox Churches and prospects for cooperation between the Polish Orthodox Church and the Moscow Patriarchate were discussed.
A day earlier, Hilarion, who is also the head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations (DECR), was received in Prague by the Archbishop of Prešov, and Metropolitan of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, His Beatitude Rastislav.
Both Church hierarchs expressed their satisfaction with the high level of cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Orthodox Church in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
