A “fraternal meeting” of Orthodox Churches will commence on Wednesday in Amman, Jordan, although a majority of the world’s Orthodox Primates, most notably the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, will not attend.
Following an invitation by the Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Most Godly Beatitude Theophilos III, who is the meeting’s host, only the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill, and the Patriarch of Serbia, His Holiness Irinej, are due to participate, among Primates of senior Orthodox Churches. On Monday, the Patriarch of All Romania, His Beatitude Daniel, announced that he will not attend, but instead, will send a delegation of hierarchs.

Conversely, the Metropolitan of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, His Eminence Rastislav, said he will attend.
