New Archbishop of America enthroned in resplendent ceremony

The first enthronement of an Archbishop of America in the 21st century occurred on Saturday, with His Eminence Elpidoforos, enthroned during a resplendent ecclesiastical ceremony at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Manhattan.

Church hierarchs, dignitaries from around the world and hundreds of Orthodox faithful attended the enthronement of the new Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church of America.

The US administration was represented by US Secretary of Health & Human Services Alex Azar.
