The Elder Archimandrite Ephraim, the Abbot of the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi, on Tuesday gave the latest online address from Mount Athos, ahead of the coming commencement of the Great Lent before Holy Pascha (Easter).

The Great Lent is a period of trial for the faithful, who strive to become more spiritual in order to better comprehend the meaning of the fast, but intrinsically experience prayer, fasting, forgiveness, repentance, and especially love of God and their fellow man.
