Ordination of Deacon Charalambos Clark to the Holy Priesthood

On Sunday, 3rd August 2025, the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain rejoiced as Deacon Charalambos Clark was ordained to the Holy Priesthood by His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas at the Church of Christ the Saviour in Woolwich.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were the Revd Protopresbyter Konstantinos Garibaldinos, Vicar General; the Revd Presbyter Thomas Koutroukis, Priest-in-charge; the Revd Archdeacon George Tsourous; and the V. Revd Archimandrite Michael Pazinas, Priest Emeritus of the parish, who joined prayerfully in the Holy Altar.

Following his ordination, Fr Charalambos offered an address full of humility and heartfelt gratitude. He reflected on the path that led him to the priesthood — a path shaped by family, parish life, and the embrace of the Archdiocese – describing the priestly calling as a ministry of reconciliation, humility, and hope. He paid tribute to his wife and children, his spiritual father Fr Michael, his fellow clergy, and the faithful of the parish who had supported him throughout his journey. With particular emotion, he acknowledged the presence of the Celtic and British Saints on the Antimension, noting their deep significance to his ancestral heritage and vocation.

In his response, His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas warmly praised Fr Charalambos as a faithful son of the parish. He encouraged him to continue learning from Fr Konstantinos and Fr Thomas – both of whom exemplify humility and a sincere willingness to serve the People of God.

At the close of the service, in a deeply moving moment, His Eminence invited Fr Charalambos’s three sons to come into the sanctuary and witness their father’s ordination, entrusting them with their own quiet share in the mystery of the day.

A joyful meal of celebration followed in the parish house, hosted by the local community and filled with thanksgiving and fellowship.
