Palm Sunday in the Metropolis of Chalcedon
On Palm Sunday, 5 April, His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon presided at the service of Matins and officiated at the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Saint Euphemia in Chalcedon.
Among those in attendance were Consul Mr Theophilos Georgakis, many faithful from Constantinople and the surrounding area, as well as a group of pilgrims from Ioannina.
At the conclusion of the service, as is customary each year, an artoklasia (blessing of the loaves) was performed for the health of the Ladies’ Philoptochos Society of Chalcedon.
Following the services, refreshments were generously offered in the church courtyard for all present, through the care of the Philoptochos Society and the support of the Community of Chalcedon.
