Patriarch John X Sends Condolences to King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan Regarding the Martyrs of the Karak Church
Patriarch John X Sends Condolences to King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan Regarding the Martyrs of the Karak Church:
“I send Your Majesty my deepest condolences, praying to the Almighty to embrace the martyrs of the heinous attack in His mercy.”
His Beatitude John X Patriarch of Antioch and All the East sent a message of condolence to King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein regarding the martyrs of the Karak Church. His Beatitude stated in the letter:
“His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, May God Protect and Preserve Him,
I received with deep sadness and sorrow the news of the tragic incident at the church in Karak. These events, which are alien to the reality of our coexistence in the Levant, are always and forever condemned and rejected.
I pray that God strengthen your arm—you who have responded with Hashemite nobility and authenticity, standing by your people and visiting the wounded and injured, making their affliction your own, and indeed the affliction of all Jordan.
On my own behalf and on behalf of the children of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East, both in the homeland and overseas, I send Your Majesty my deepest condolences, praying to the Almighty to embrace the martyrs of the heinous attack in His mercy.
May He grant their families divine comfort, heal the injured, and keep Jordan safe and sound.
May God be with you, Your Majesty, and guide your arm toward all that is good to the Jordan we cherish.”
