Patriarch of Alexandria receives Greek Dep. FM
The Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Divine Beatitude Theodoros II, this week received visiting Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Costas Vlassis in Cairo.
The deputy minister, who holds the expatriate Greeks’ portfolio, expressed his praise for His Divine Beatitude and the Patriarchate’s missionary work, referring to a lighthouse of Orthodoxy on the African continent.
The Patriarch of Alexandria, accompanied by the Greek deputy minister, then attended a new year’s event on Thursday evening hosted by the ethnic Greek community of Cairo and other Hellenic communities in Egypt.
