Patriarch of All Romania Daniel welcomes Elder Ephraim to Patriarchal see in Bucharest

The Elder Ephraim is visiting the country upon the kind invitation of the Patriarch of Romania, and on the occasion of an international theology symposium organized and hosted by the Romanian Orthodox Church.

Discussions between the Primate of the Romanian Church and the Abbot of the venerable Mount Athos monastery touched on relations between the Bucharest Patriarchate and the Holy Mountain, as well as the prospect of future joint initiatives.

His Beatitude presented the Elder Ephraim with a collection of Patristic texts translated into the Romanian language, along with a three-dimensional crystal miniature of the new Metropolitan Cathedral of the Savior of the Romanian Nation.

The Elder Ephraim presented the Patriarch of Romania with an exact replica of the Holy Gospels sent to the Holy and Great Monastery of Vatopedi by 14th century Byzantine Emperor John VI Katakouzinos.
