Patriarch of Jerusalem receives visiting chairman of Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations

The Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Most Godly Beatitude Theophilos III, this week received the Metropolitan of Volokolamsk, His Eminence Hilarion, who arrived in the Holy Land with the blessing of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill.

Hilarion is also the chairman the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations.

The head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, Archimandrite Alexander, Russian clerics and hieromonks were also present at the meeting, whereas the Archbishop of Constantina, His Eminence Aristarchos, participated on the part of the Jerusalem Patriarchate.

The Patriarch of Jerusalem referred to the recent celebration of the Epiphany in the Holy City, as well as the overall situation in the Middle East.
