Patriarch of Serbia Porfirije emphasizes importance of emulating angelic forces in everyday Christian life

The Patriarch of Serbia, His Holiness Porfirije, officiated at a Hierarchical Liturgy at the Monastery of the Archangel Gabriel in Kovilje, on the occasion of the patron saint-day – the Synaxis of the Holy Archangel Gabriel – based on the Julian calendar.

Several hierarchs, monks, clergy and deacons from many dioceses of the Serbian Orthodox Church co-officiated and were in attendance.
After reading from the Gospel, the Serbian Patriarch emphasized, in his sermon, the importance of emulating the angelic forces in everyday Christian life.
