Patriarchal letter regarding Moscow Patriarchate’s ‘intrusion’ onto African continent from delivered to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I

The office of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His All Holiness Bartholomew I, has received a Patriarchal letter dispatched by the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, His Most Divine Beatitude Theodoros II, officially briefing the former over what the Alexandria Church deems as an “intrusion” by the Russian Orthodox Church into its ecclesiastical jurisdiction.

The Ecumenical Patriarchate has already voiced its support for the Alexandria Patriarchate, as enunciated in a decision by members of the Sacred and Holy Synod of the former, while qualifying however, that the Mother Church is doing all within its power to restore canonical order on the African continent.

The Alexandria Patriarchate has announced that it will now proceed with an official briefing of other Primates of Orthodox Churches around the world.
