Patriarchate of Alexandria’s school opens on Monday with 10 students
The Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa’s seminary, the Athanasius the Great School, resumed operation on Monday, with 10 students from the continent enrolled, according to the Patriarch of Alexandria, His Divine Beatitude Theodoros II, who spoke on Sunday from the Monastery of St. Savvas.
The students will be offered theology and pastoral courses, along with instruction in nursing and agronomy. Instruction will be provided by Greek and Egyptian educators and Patriarchate staff-members.
According to reports, all 10 of the students are proficient in Greek and versed in Byzantine ecclesiastical music, the result of seminars offered by Orthodox Churches in sub-Saharan Africa.
