Pavlos Marinakis: It is a sacred obligation for everyone to stand in support of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew

The Greek Government took a clear position regarding the attack by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) against His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, through the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister and Government Spokesperson, Mr. Pavlos Marinakis.

Asked to comment on Moscow’s attack against the Ecumenical Patriarch, Mr. Marinakis stated that it is a sacred obligation of all Orthodox Christians to stand by a man who, beyond the credentials he has demonstrated as the Primate of our Church, has consistently taught faith and humanitarian values.

“We are all, self-evidently, both as a state and as individuals, standing alongside Patriarch Bartholomew,” he emphasised.
