Perth: Agiasmos blessing for the New Academic Year of Greek School 2023
On Saturday the 18th of February 2023, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea conducted the blessing (agiasmo) and cutting of the Vasilopita to mark the beginning of the new year for the Greek School of the Hellenic Community of WA at the Parish of Sts Constantine and Helene in Perth, WA.
The Greek School, which is called the Centre for Hellenic Studies WA, has 50 students ranging from Primary School to High School age and is based in the Parish hall of the Church of Sts Constantine and Helene.
His Grace conveyed to all the students and teachers the paternal blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios and thanked Parish Priest Father Terry Gerovasilis and the Principal of the school Mr. Savvas Papasavvas for their invitation.
