Phanar: Grand Preacher Panaretos elected Bishop of Tamissos and Exarch in Lithuania
On Tuesday, 26 May, the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate convened under the presidency of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and proceeded with the election of auxiliary bishops: Bishop Epiphanios of Hexamilion, formerly of Olbia and canonically released from the Autocephalous Church of Ukraine, and Bishop Panaretos (Psaraftis) of Tamissos, until now Grand Preacher of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, who will serve as Exarch of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in Lithuania.
On the same day, at the Patriarchal Church of Saint George, the Great Messages of the two newly elected auxiliary bishops were celebrated before the Ecumenical Patriarch.
