Phanar: Patriarchal and Synodal Divine Liturgy with the Ordination of a Deacon on the Sunday of Orthodoxy
On the Sunday of Orthodoxy, 28 February, a Patriarchal and Synodal Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the venerable Patriarchal Church of Saint George at the Phanar, during which His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will ordain a Deacon.
The relevant announcement follows:
It is announced that, on the great feast of the Sunday of Orthodoxy, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew will preside at the Venerable Patriarchal Church during Great Vespers on Saturday, 28 February, at 4:00 p.m.
On the following day, Sunday, 1 March, His All-Holiness will preside over the customary Patriarchal and Synodal Divine Liturgy, during which he will ordain to the Diaconate the Esteemed Mr Vladimir Konichshev, who is to serve in the Patriarchal Exarchate in Lithuania.
The festal homily will be delivered by His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon.
After the dismissal, the customary Trisagion will be celebrated for the repose of the souls of those who struggled for our Orthodox faith and were perfected in it, and this will be followed by the procession of the holy icons, led by the Patriarch and the Hierarchs concelebrating with him.
