Primate of Church of Greece receives country’s president

The Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, His Beatitude Ieronymos, on Tuesday morning received Greece’s president of the republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, at the Athens Archdiocese.
The country’s head of state reciprocated a courtesy visit last June by the Primate of the Church of Greece to the presidential mansion.
In a later statement, His Beatitude noted that “…this visit, both symbolic and substantive, and held amid the present conditions, demonstrates the traditionally very good relations between Church and state, beginning with the foundation of the modern Greek state up until today.”
