Reopening of Cathedral of St. Athanasius of Arbanasi in Bulgaria

The historic Cathedral of St. Athanasius at the Arbanasi site, in the Veliko Tarnovo municipality, has reopened after 70 years. The Cathedral was built in 1667, with many of the ecclesiastical frescoes adorning its walls attributed to a Greek hagiographer.
Arbanasi is a traditional settlement with numerous monuments and medieval Orthodox chapels.
