Representatives of various religions and confessions of Georgia show support to Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II
On November 15 and 16, the International Day for Tolerance, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II received leaders and representatives of various religions and confessions existing in Georgia at the Patriarchate’s residence.
The Guests included leaders of the Jewish community, the Muslim Division, the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church, Latin Catholics, Yezidi Theological Seminary, Evangelical Lutheran Church and Gospel Faith.
The Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia congratulated the guests on the International Day for Tolerance and noted that everything should be done to maintain peace and mutual respect. His Holiness also spoke about the problems and challenges of the modern world and emphasized the importance of protecting the sanctity and fortitude of the family because «strong and enduring family is the key to a successful country».
The guests noted that Georgia is a historically tolerant country and the Orthodox Church and the Catholic Patriarch personally promote tolerance and peaceful coexistence of various religious and ethnic groups in Georgia. They also said that they came to show their support and respect for the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia and thank him for upholding traditional values and promoting tolerance.
