Romanian Patriarch attends celebratory joint legislative session on occasion of nat’l holiday

His Beatitude Daniel blessed the session and the legislators, while in a brief address he referred to the need for national unity, calling on office-holders to fulfill their duties based on traditional Christian values.

Speaking after a Divine Liturgy, the Russian Patriarch said Orthodoxy is experiencing difficult times, while adding “…The stronger our unity is, both in terms of resolving domestic growth issues as well as dialogue with global Orthodoxy, the more successful our actions will be.”
