Russian Church calls for support of outreach programs for homeless

The Russian Orthodox Church’s Department for Church Charity and Social Ministry this week issued a plea for food donations to deal with what it says is a sharp increase in the number of homeless in the vast country, a development that comes amid the pandemic.

The Russian Church has already organized 90 homeless shelters, along with 12 mobile assistance units and more than 460 soup kitchens.
