Russian Church spokesman: Easter was celebrated even during times of plague, war and other disasters; we will celebrate even today

The head of the Russian Orthodox Church’s synodical department, Vladimir Legoida, said decisions by the Church, in cooperation with the state, are forthcoming.
He added that “…Easter was celebrated even during times of plague, amid war and other disasters; we will celebrate even today. The Feast of Great and Holy Pascha symbolizes the triumph over death and other calamities and imperfections in the world around us.”
