Russian Patriarch extends condolences to families of victims of submarine accident

The Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, His Holiness Kirill, extended his condolences to the families of the victims of a fire aboard a Russian navy research submersible in the Barents Sea, which killed 14 crew members this week.
The Patriarch, in a statement, noted that “…I was extremely pained upon learning of the fire on July 1 aboard a submarine in Russian territorial waters, with 14 sailors dying as a result. Please accept my sincere condolences.”
