Schismatic parish closer to readmission, communion with Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia

A resolution to a decades-long ecclesiastical thorn in Australian Orthodoxy appears coming to an end. A scheduled visit of the Archbishop of Australia, His Eminence Makarios, next week to the schismatic St. Spyridonas church in Clayton, Melbourne, is expected to mark the parish’s return to communion with the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.

At the same time, board members of another schismatic parish, that of St. Albans, have called on congregants to an extraordinary general assembly in order to broach the issue of requesting readmission and communion with the Archdiocese.
