Second day of sessions this week of Church of Greece permanent Holy Synod

Members of the permanent Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece convened for a second consecutive day on Wednesday.

According to information collected by the Orthodoxia News Agency, the agenda included the issue of the health of the Metropolitan of Peristeri, His Eminence Klimis, and the degree in which the hierarch can fulfill his ecclesiastical duties.

Meanwhile, a day after Holy Synod members were briefed on the course of a Covid-19 vaccination program in the country, the spokesman of the Church of Greece’s Holy Synod, Metropolitan Athenagoras, appeared on a morning television news program, where he reiterated that “…We allow the margin of free volition, as we cannot oblige all to get vaccinated, however, we emphasize the fact that the only solution is vaccination…We want all our clerics to get vaccinated, but always within the framework of free volition… most of the Metropolitans have already been vaccinated.”
