Serbian Orthodox Bishop: Extremists investing in Islamization of region’s Albanians

The Serbian Orthodox Bishop of Novi Sad and Backa, His Grace Irinej, this week expressed concern over the situation in Kosovo, specifically, in the Balkans, and in general with what he called the continued strengthening of the Muslim element in the region.
He spoke at a conference on the future of Europe.

“We should not forget that extremist Muslim elements in the Near and Middle East are investing in the Islamization of the Albanians.” In the wars conducted by the Islamic State in the East, a great percentage of the volunteers come from Kosovo as well as Bosnia , “he said.

The Serbian Orthodox Bishop also underlined that Europe is unaware of the danger involved in what he called a ‘Muslim wildfire’ that is approaching. Additionally, he stressed that Serbia can not recognize Kosovo’s independence.
